South West NRM – Community Resilience Workshop 4

FreeThe fourth of six workshops planned for 2024 to build community resilience to drought.
The online workshop will be hosted at six locations across the South West (see below) and will involve development of a framework for community resilience.
Group discussion will identify actions to build community resilience to drought or other impacts. Sharing ideas between groups.
GUEST SPEAKERS Dean Bavich & Mike Monaghan
Speakers will explore the role of Rural Financial Counselling and Business Planning.
The workshops will be held at Community Resource Centres (CRCs) in:
- Boyup Brook
- Bridgetown
- Donnybrook
- Manjimup
- Brunswick Junction
Attendance at these locations is preferred, but if not possible, a meeting link will be sent.
The workshops are part the Community Resilience Network, which is one of five “Surviving the Dry” projects in the South West.

May 3 – How can we develop a framework for community resilience? – Renee Knapp, Think Effective.
June 14 – Financial Services. – Dean Bavich, Rural West; and Michael Monaghan, Farmanco.
August 2 – Community health and well-being services. Roger Hitchcock, Rural Aid; and Terry Melrose, Regional Men’s Health.
September 13 – How can we support Aboriginal and Youth in times of drought? – Kerry Collard, Goomburrup Aboriginal Corporation; and Lisa Burgess, Blackwood Youth Action.
