09 Dec 2021 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Lower Blackwood LCDC is hosting a Regenerative Grazing Masterclass. Facilitated by Regenerative Grazing Management expert Dick Richardson, this one day workshop is a sequel to the introductory workshop ‘Grazing Naturally’, held earlier this year.
Topics covered during this Grazing Naturally Masterclass will include:
-
The Grazing Naturally method – a refresher
-
Practical implementation using spreadsheets and or the MaiaGrazing program
-
Understanding stock flows and using stock units
-
Calculating carrying capacity and matching stocking rate
-
Growing / non-growing season planning
-
Addressing practical issues around grazing planning implementation
-
Water supply and infrastructure for larger mobs
-
Animal performance appraisal in the paddock
-
Supplementation for livestock
The Field Walk component of the day will be a refresher session on using the STAC method to assess feed on the ground.
Will this course benefit me? Although primarily aimed at participants who attended our earlier workshop, this workshop will suit any farmer who is wanting to develop a planning grazing system that ‘listens’ to the environment and responds appropriately with comprehensive planning, risk mitigation and grazing animals.
To help you get the maximum benefit from this workshop we highly recommend that you take some time to read or revisit the below information:
