GIWA Barley Forum 2023

$50The annual GIWA Barley Forum is the signature event in the Western Australian barley industry calendar.
It offers a chance for the WA barley industry to come together and hear about the latest issues impacting growers, maltsters, marketers and industry; collaborate, network and look at future opportunities and challenges for WA barley.
An important function of the Forum is to discuss and develop the malt barley variety receival recommendations for the 2024/25 harvest.
12:45pm arrival for 1:00pm start, 4:50pm finish AWST (Perth time).
Starting around 1pm, the Program will cover:
– Global barley market outlook.
– Overview of varieties progressing through the malt accreditation system.
– A Maltster’s perspective on current variety preferences and global market acceptance of WA barley.
– A look at the potential new varieties that could be in the marketplace in 2024.
– A Recap last season, scenario discussion and interim conclusions for GIWA malt barley variety receival recommendations for the 2024/25 harvest.
The GIWA Barley Council welcomes member and non-member participation from all sectors of the barley industry at the Forum, with in-person and virtual attendance both available.
A networking sundowner with canapes and drinks will follow. Any agenda items involving online East Coast participants will conclude around 3.30pm.
This event will abide by Western Australian COVID-19 regulations. While every effort is being made at the venue to abide by health advice, we ask that you take personal responsibility and be aware that your attendance is at your own health and safety choice.
GIWA is responsible for photography and video recording at these events. If you do not wish to have your image recorded or photographed for publication please let the GIWA staff know on the day of the event.
