DPIRD is once again asking for your help to protect Western Australia’s enviable biosecurity status by participating in the sixth annual Biosecurity Blitz. This events takes place during the period of 19 October to 16 November 2020.

The Biosecurity Blitz aims to discover, photograph and record as many interesting or damaging pests as possible while raising community awareness about the importance of biosecurity. This year’s event includes activities that also celebrate the United Nations’ International Year of Plant Health 2020.

Participating is easy, all you need to do is:

• Sign up to the Blitz and try the 30-Day Challenge to achieve ‘boffin’ status, with a chance to win a prize sponsored by Plant Surveillance Network Australasia-Pacific.
• Download one of our free reporting apps and make reports
• View the 30-Day Calendar and complete one or more surveillance activities.

Your reports will help protect our food industries and the natural environment from harmful or damaging exotic pests.

When you sign up to the Biosecurity Blitz, you will receive a weekly newsletter during the event keeping you up to date with fun news bites, featured activities and a selection of handpicked community photos of the prettiest, weirdest and most interesting reports!
