Join us at the  2024 Industrial Hemp Variety Trials (IHVT) and Sesame Central Field Days. The field days will be held in Katherine NT and Kununurra WA.

Farmers and growers interested in these high-value, dual purpose crops are invited to inspect the local trial sites in Katherine and Kununurra.

Agenda for the field days is below:
8:30am: Registration- transportation from the research office to the trial site will be provided
9:00am: Welcome to Country and introductions
9:30am: Overview of the industrial hemp and sesame trial field layout
10:00am: Industrial hemp trial site tour followed by the sesame tour
11:00am: Sesame presentation delivered by site manager
12:00pm: Light lunch (provided)
1:00pm: Industrial hemp presentation and agronomy session
2:00pm: Close

The Katherine and Kununurra IHVT trial sites are among nine sites across seven states and territories that make up the AgriFutures Australia national Industrial Hemp Variety Trials (IHVT) Program. The Sesame Central trial sites are also located at both Katherine and Kununurra and are the collaborative effort between AgriFutures Australia, the Cooperative Centre for Developing Northern Australia (CRCNA), and CQU.
