2 Day Leadership Training [2025]

Over two-days, this bespoke leadership training opportunity for the GGA network aims to enhance the leadership skills and boost the impact of staff and committee members serving within the GGA network, not-for-profit group context.

If you are in a paid staff or volunteer committee/board role where you have some form of leadership within the scope of that role, this workshop will progress your leadership in all areas, translating to higher impact.

Dates

4th & 5th November 2025

Training runs over two-days in Perth [venue TBA] with an evening networking dinner on the first day.

Day 1 – 4 November – includes full day training (9am – 5pm) plus networking dinner.

Day 2 – 5 November – full day training (8.30am – 4pm)

Places & Registration

Exclusive to GGA network members, 25 places are available for this two-day accommodated workshop in Perth.

This training will support any staff or volunteer committee/board members who are in some form of leadership role within the scope of your work. Obvious examples of prospects to attend include Executive Officers and Chairs, but also a Research Officer who leads a small team or a committee member in charge of a Board sub-committee.

Alongside fellow GGA members operating in a similar context, you will be immersed in a two-day shared learning experience facilitated by renowned extension facilitator Jeanette Long of Ag Consulting Co. from South Australia, who has been delivering leadership training tailored to the agricultural industry for over 20 years.

Features of the training

Material will be delivered in line with best practice facilitation and learning methods, in an interactive manner, peer-to-peer learning through a shared collegiate experience.

Day 1 – Networking Dinner

  • Delegates will enjoy time to extend conversations and concepts covered in the day over dinner whilst building their connections within the GGA network over a sit-down, casual dinner.

We require a minimum of 10 delegates for this training to proceed as proposed.

Instructor – Jeanette Long

Renowned agricultural industry facilitator, trainer and coach Jeanette Long will deliver the workshop.

Bio – Jeanette Long

Jeanette Long has been facilitating leadership training for over 20 years. She is passionate about developing the skills of people in regional and rural areas. Jeanette’s passion is engaging people and influencing positive change in agriculture and natural resources management. She specialises in facilitation and facilitated learning both with farmers and for professionals who work with farmers. She has delivered extension and facilitation training with The Red Meat Profit Partnership in NZ, for QDAF, Dairy Australia, Sugar Research Australia and the National Grower Group Collective. Jeanette is currently the Master Facilitator with the NB2 Program funded by MLA. Jeanette’s formal education includes a Master’s in Business Administration, a Graduate Diploma in Education, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Agriculture. She has also completed the Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is a trained facilitator and coach and holds a Certificate in Workplace Training and Assessment. Jeanette is also an accredited “Building Team Resilience” trainer and is accredited to deliver the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

Leadership Expertise Capability

Jeanette’s leadership expertise is aligned with practices and principles of the Forton Group, part of the Inspirational Development Group (IDG), a global human performance consultancy specialising in leadership and team development.

Within this methodology, the definition of a leader is “being personally successful and enabling success in others” and a belief that leadership is about the individual, the team they lead, the broader organisation, and leadership in society.
