Ravensthorpe Agricultural Initiative Network

Description

The Ravensthorpe Agricultural Initiative Network (RAIN) was established in 2001 by farmers with the purpose of promoting responsible natural resource management and best practise farming in the Ravensthorpe district. RAIN acts as an umbrella group to a network of catchment, grower and community groups, providing support in a wide range of natural resource management activities.

Current Activities

  • Assistance with NRM-related activities
  • Mouse monitoring
  • Extension activities
  • Break crop trials
  • Soil health and precision agriculture projects
  • Various trial work across the shire, including pastures
  • Variety trials with SEPWA

Past Activities and Accomplishments

  • Formed in 2001
  • Numerous successful events including field days, crop updates and lunch & learns
  • Support the Jerdacuttup Top Crop & Pasture Group and Lakes Grower Group
