Agricultural Women Wheatbelt East (AWWE) Group

Description

Formed in October 2012 by six local women, Agricultural Women Wheatbelt East (AWWE) aims to support the role women undertake in Eastern Wheatbelt farm businesses through the provision of skills, professional development and networks.

AWWE hosts many events throughout the year, ranging from networking activities, technical farm business workshops, industry update sessions and personal health and wellbeing sessions. In recent times there has been an increase in the use of the AWWE groups industry and member network by other not for profit and government groups to promote local events and learning opportunities.

Past Activities and Accomplishments

  • Establishment of the group in 2012 to developing a network membership of over 200
  • Holding two successful grain marketing professional development sessions in 2013 and 2015
  • Holding a successful succession planning professional development session in 2013
  • Holding the first AWWE forum in 2014 “Your Farm, Your Future, Your Self”
  • Holding two Maggie Dent parenting sessions in 2014 and 2016
